विष्णु पुराण Viṣṇu Purāṇa
Purāṇa · Mahāpurāṇa · early Vaiṣṇava text
The Viṣṇu Purāṇa is among the oldest and most authoritative of the eighteen Mahāpurāṇas — six aṁśas (parts) that lay out Vaiṣṇava cosmology, the structure of yugas and manvantaras, and the framework of the Daśāvatāra. It precedes the Bhāgavata and is one of its principal sources.
