सामवेद Sāmaveda

Veda · the Veda of song and melody

The Sāmaveda is the Veda of melodies — verses (most drawn from the Ṛgveda) set to liturgical chant. It is the root of the Indian musical tradition and uniquely relevant to a study site centred on recitation. In the Gītā, Kṛṣṇa identifies Himself with the Sāmaveda among the four (Gītā 10.22: vedānāṁ sāma-vedo 'smi).
